If some of it turns out to be costume with no metal value, we'll tell you plainly which pieces those are rather than folding everything into one vague numbers.
The Math
Weight, Purity, Live Spot, Same as Anything Else
Every piece gets acid-tested or electronically verified for karat or purity, then weighed in grams, then priced against the live spot price of gold or silver at that moment. Whether it's one bent ring or a full bag of broken pieces, the process is the same for each item.
If a piece has a stone still set in it, we look at that separately. If the stone is missing or it's just bare metal, the number is purely metal weight times purity times spot.
